TAC Docklands Mural

The City of Melbourne and the TAC partnered up to commission a mural that stretched 100 meters across the end of Central Pier in Docklands, Melbourne. Featuring the artwork of seven of Victorias top muralists and curated by the Blender Studios each artist painted their interpretation of one of the key features of Melbournes new cycle specific roads according to a chosen suburb.

Geoffrey Carran had Royal Park as the location to draw inspiration from. “This presented me with a great opportunity to paint a fun, interactive mural, like classic street art people can respond to it as they walk past on the footpath. The mural will feature something every cyclist encounters here during Spring, Swooping Magpies! Painting this in perfect warm Melbourne weather with a crew of super talented artists was really rewarding, even if it was 37 degrees in the shade! Everyone had such a unique take on the subject matter and using their own style to express it, it was so uplifting to work together after the isolation of lockdowns and working remotely”
